Journaling Through My Lens (March week 1)

Colorful koi and beautiful waterlily leaves made one fun photo.

Trees are dancing in the pond.

Mr. Pelican is take his sunbathe at the zoo.

I will be traveling and hope to capture interesting photos to share with you the next few weeks. πŸ™‚

I’ll be using WP App on my iPhone posting my journal, hope it works well. I have not had a problem getting to the blog site by click the gravatar on “like”; lately, sometimes, I can’t get to your site by clicking the gravatar on “comment”, it only happens through WP App on my iPhone. Does that happen to you?

Charles Kuralt told a story in his book that he and his camera guy were shooting a story commemorating General Washingtons’ arduous crossing the Delaware in the winter of  ’76. His camera guy said, “I wish to hell it would start to snow.”  Charles went on:

“We looked up at the sky. A cloud passed over the sun. It started to snow. The snow covered the boats… When we finished shotting, the cloud passed by, the sun came out, it stopped snowing and didn’t snow again for a week.”

“All I know is that every traveler needs a carefree and optimistic spirit, curiosity about his surrounding, powers of keen observation — and a little bit of dumb luck.”

— Charles Kuralt, “A Life on the Road”

  1. If these photos are anything to go by we’ve got a lot of good stuff to look forward to, Amy. Enjoy your travels and I hope all goes well. I’ve only managed to reconnect with you due to you ‘liking’ and commenting on my last post. Seems WP doesn’t want me to contact people!

  2. Love the koi photo. And the pond reflection is calming. The last quote was so true to me. As for WP stuff. It seems to have its own mind when it wants, especially when we travel. Have a great trip. I will be looking for you.

  4. There’s something about this beautiful pelican that really speaks to me, Amy! What wonderful photos. And I must just say how very sad and disturbed I am in response to the terrible fires in your beautiful state. I hope that you and your loved ones are not directly affected, of course, but in some way we all are. In particular those in your state. πŸ’”

  5. Hi Amy,
we like especially your first two pictures and the Kuralt text. “Every traveler needs a carefree and optimistic spirit, curiosity about his surrounding, powers of keen observation” indeed and luck as well, to be at the right time at the right place.
    Wishing you an easy weekend
