This week, we’ll explore “Framing Your Photos”. The purpose of framing a photo is to create a pleasing composition, so we can direct the viewer’s attention to the subject of our photo.
The beautiful sky view, hills, and castle on top of the hill are framed by this gigantic Roman aqueduct of Segovia. It was a stunning sight with 167 arches in total.
The Miho Museum, designed by I.M. Pei, is a remarkable architecture. As soon as you walk through the entrance gate, you are facing the beautiful pine trees and the mountain view framed by these large window panels
There are various ways to frame photos. I often like to use trees and/or branches surrounding the edge of the scene. On the right, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial is framed by cherry blossoms. On the right, the astonishing sight of the Golden Pavilion In Kyoto is framed by pine branches:
Architects know how to use windows and doors to frame a sight. Below you see a beautiful mountain view framed by an arched window at the Fairmont Banff Springs, Canada; there was a line of large arched windows throughout this long hallway. On the right is the Metropolitan Museum of Art:
This stone buddah carving is wrapped around (framed) by tree roots, which is a special, historical site outside of Bangkok, Thailand:
And, more…

I have included two images framed by trees. On the left, a bald eagle was sitting on a branch guarding her nest. Below several photographers with their tele lenses were waiting patiently to get a cool shot. On the right, a young deer was peeking between these two trees, and mom was just a few steps away watching every step he made.
Nature has its special way to frame a scene. A beautiful, curving window opens to the sky at the Antelope Canyon, Arizona:
Let the raindrops frame a leaf 🙂
