Lens-Artists Challenge #178 – You Choose

This week, Tina encourages us to use our imagination to take your post anywhere we’d like.

As we are approaching the end of the year, we finally see leaves are changing colors (it’s a little bit late this year) and falling. So my choice is “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?”

Though flowers are gone, we are surrounded by colorful leaves and seeds. As we know, leaves manufacture and store food, taken in carbon dioxide, release oxygen, absorb and exude liquids, filter air, and orient themselves to capture sunlight, so to generate energy for plants to produce flowers and make seeds.

Butterflies and bees are gone, too. But birds are here to enjoy berries. 🙂 These photos were taken a week or so ago.

Thank you for joining in our Celebrating theme last week. Your photos of food, laughter, holiday lights, colors, nature… have reminded us that “Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated.”  Many thanks to you for taking time to share your heartwarming stories of family and friends gathering. We hope you will join Tina’s “Your Choice”. Please be sure to link them to Tina’s post, and to use the Lens-Artists Tag to help us find you in the WP reader.

Next Week, Patti will host LAPC # 179. Be sure to visit her site.

Happy holidays. Stay safe and stay well.

  2. My favorite time of year when Mother Nature shows off her colors! I love that opening image. I also love the browns and golds of native grasses and the “amber waves of grain” prior to harvest time. Thanks for sharing your choices this week.

    • Thank you, John. I think Nov. and early Dec. is a beautiful time of the year here, weather is still warm and leaves are changing colors… I’d love to see the “amber waves of grain”. 🙂

  4. Loved your choice this week Amy. your image of the leaves on the water is very, very special! And I had no idea there was sweetgrass in Texas!! Our autumn was very late this year also. I suppose it’s climate change at work. Hoping that horrific hurricane didn’t come anywhere near you.

    • Thank you, Tina. Glad you like this choice. I have never seen sweet grass in Austin and San Antonio area, but was happy to see it here. They were so beautiful, I thought about your beautiful sweet grass photos. It was at around mid 80F last week here, I had to turn on the AC while driving. 🙂
