Show me your shoes, San Antonio Battle of Flowers Parade 2014!
It started 115 years ago a colorful celebration of the Texans’ victory at the Battle of San Jacinto after the fall of the Alamo. Now, 3.5 million people in attendance of the event.

Why a pair of old boots? The young photographer explains, “These are my dad’s old boots, well it’s history for me. He’s had these boots since he was 17, and that was a long, long time ago. He said these boots have seen lots of adventures out in the world. I think the wrinkles on these boots look like the ones on my dad when he smiles.” He was only a 3rd grade student. 🙂
The photo above was captured at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego Balboa Park. I’m re-posting it. Hope my new blog friends and followers will enjoy the story of this special pair of boots.
