Lens-Artists Weekly Photo Challenge #28: Curves

People are attracted to curves of architecture, because it give a smooth feeling, and sometimes the feeling of moving.

When Philip Johnson, a great architect, first visited the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, designed by Frank Gehry, he started to cry. …Something about the museum’s majestic curves moved him at an emotional level.

The $4 billion Oculus station (the World Trade Center Transportation Hub), designed by Santiago Calatrava, has some unique curves:

Emily Warren Roebling is recognized as a pioneering female engineer who made a great contribution to the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Today, 125,000 motor vehicles cross the Brooklyn Bridge each day, as do roughly 4,000 pedestrians and 2,600 cyclists.

Amsterdam Train Station:

If you stop at this spot in one of the canals in Amsterdam, you can capture all seven arches of the seven bridges:

Curves in nature give the feeling of moving. Antelope Canyon in Arizona is the most photographed slot canyon in America.
