Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #240 – The Road (most often) Taken

For this week’s challenge, John asks us to “think of your favorite type or style of photography as the road you’ve chosen to take most often, and not about a physical road”.

I’m not sure I have a style, but I know I react to what I see. When I travel, I try to photograph scenes that I want to remember.

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.”   –Aaron Siskind

Landscape is my favorite photography subject. I fell in love with the beautiful landscape of Peru as we traveled through the country. I probably won’t have another chance to visit Peru, but having a photo collection like this one allows me to take a virtual tour months and years later and as many times as I want to. The image below is one of the many landscape photos that I captured on a tour bus. I recall the bus climbed up slowly for hours, I kept clicking with my iPhone.

The landscape of Ireland we saw on the cruise will stay with me forever long.

When I am not on the road, I enjoy capturing the beauty of nature in our local parks and gardens.

Finding something interesting in an ordinary place to photograp is challenging, but fun at the same time. I hope to add this challenge to my photography style. 🙂

For this week’s challenge, John encourages us to “Consider a favorite photographic style like low key/high key, monochrome, etc. Maybe a genre of photography like a preference for architecture, still life, portraiture, etc.” Click here to view John’s fabulous photos and style. Hope you’ll join us.

Thanks to Tina for last week’s challenge, Finding Peace. We enjoyed your peaceful moments and places through your beautiful photos. Next week when Sofia of Photographias will host the challenge, be sure to visit her site.
