This week, Andre (Solaner) hosts Summer Vibes, “biking, mountain climbing, hiking, swimming, diving, sailing, surfing, kite-surfing, …”
“Summer, summer, summertime, Time to sit back and unwind…” the San Diego beach:
“I wish they all could be California”. Huntington Beach, California:
“Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer” — Nat King Cole
Sarasota, Florida.
“Still, and warm, and peaceful
Now the days are getting long
I can sing my summer song.”
— Louis Armstrong
Lady Bird Lake, Austin, TX:
Go higher, UFO! ๐ Hawaii:
“Summer breeze makes me feel fine”, Miami Beach:
“Now I’m just gon’ sit, at the dock of the bay Watchin’ the tide roll away…,” Oh yeah, cooler temperature.
Why must summer ever end…
This is such a fun theme. Andre also reminds us to “Pay attention to the composition and avoid having distracting spots in your image like waste, bins, or parts of things, a balanced horizon is usually important for a great image. ” Click here to learn more and enjoy his cool photos. We hope you’ll share your fun summer activities and stories through your lens. Don’t forget to link your post to Andre’s site and tag.
Special thank to Jez, for last weekโs challenge “Seeing Double”. What an inspiring theme! I have learned seeing double from Jez and your beautiful photos. Next week Tracy from Reflections of an Untidy Mind will host LAPC #209. So, make sure to have a look at her site.
Amy, when reading JohnH’s post, I commented with a list of songs about summer. You’ve reminded me of several songs I didn’t recall. >grin<
Your collection of people enjoying the water truly reflect summer vibes!
Lovely shots and I enjoyed the way you’ve incorporated the song lyrics in your post. My favourite is the ‘dock of the bay’ photo with the reflections and those beautiful layers of blue in the mountains ๐
I like the lines in the first shot and the light-shade contrast n the third with the feel of coolness in the shade. . Of course the last one is so cute and theyโre all excellent shots but those two stood out to me.
Thanks, Anne. The heat is unbearable here. I’m starting my walking early in the morning when it’s at around 85 F, and stay at home the rest of the day.
Beautiful set featuring water in different ways. I love that first photo with the gull pushing off in the foreground. The silhouette of the tree framing the grassy edge to the waters is a really grand one: in the foreshortened perspective it looks like the benches and the boats are nearly at the same distance.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, IJ. The first image is a different setting. I think the silhouette seems to tell the story of summertime. Appreciate you taking time to going through these images. ๐
Wonderful collection of summer activities, Amy. My favorite is your opening image. The starting bird is such a great addition to the scene. Just followed by the surfer ๐๐๐
Oh, that is great, Amy, thanks. I see quite often images online, when I think they have a really good base. But only small avoidable things prevent that they become great. Itโs perfectly clear, there will always be some mistaken images. But, why spoiling memories when a little knowledge and care can easily be prevented. I see, many participants of LAPC already do so, but there are also those having fun on taking photos but not caring about composition. Those are the ones Iโm trying to address and the starters. For the the others a short reminder could refresh their memory and maybe encourage them to left a beaten path to try something else.
Photography is a never-ending learnig process. Often, I get anxious to click and overlook those basics. It’s great to learn and to be reminded from you.
Thatโs right. You can learn so much from others. Therefore itโs great to have such a huge library online and the opportunity to meet with others and discuss the results
I liked the parasailing photo, Amy!
