Cee’s FOTD: Magnolia

Magnolias are believed to be the earliest known flowering plants, with their fossils dating back over 100 million years. Click here for more.

The oldest trees on the grounds of the White House are two southern magnolias planted between 1829 and 1837 by Andrew Jackson.

Cee’s FOTD gives us a great joy to appreciate the beauty of flowers. Thank you, Cee!

  1. Oh this brings me childhood nostalgia! My grandmother has this huge magnolia plant and nthe scent is unforgettable! She would pit bunches of the buds in front of her Altar, we are Catholic, so it holds quite fond memories for us.I see these flowers as divine.

  2. We planted a magnolia tree last spring at our house in Eastern Ontario. I didn’t think they grew this far North but it flourished and survived the winter, so we planted two more. I love their blossoms.

Thank you for visiting! Love to hear from you...
