Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #200 — Every Little Thing
This week, we invite you to share every little thing that makes you smile.
I love to take photos of flowers, I especially enjoy spending more time looking for little insects, butterflies, and bees with my camera. Capturing this flower stamen with an insect on top was fun.
As I was moving my camera a little closer to these Rose Deutzia, I noticed this little guy was sitting there enjoying these lovely flowers surrounding him.
It’s always delightful to see small buds and capturing their details.
Little morning dews can make plants and flowers happy the rest of the day. More often than not, I get down as far as I can to photograph the beauty of every small thing around me.
As I was getting to a low position to take closeup photos of these pansies, a small group of people next to me were all excited when this tiny thing flew in. One was yelling, “Hummingbird!”. I’d never seen one like it before. So, I went to Google for help. It actually was a sphinx moth.
According to the U.S. FOREST SERVICE, these moths are super tankers that fly from blossom to blossom. The Forest Service estimates that populations of 11,000 moths are known to occur in the United States.
This little girl was fascinated by the butterfly. Her curiosity and joyful expression are priceless.
The baby bird peeked out from her home for the first time. “Hello, World!”
The other day, the Travel Channel introduced how this special Japanese dessert was artifully made by hand. I remembered the photo I took in Kyoto. Each was only an inch and half, beautifully placed in a case.
Photos above were captured with macro lens, iPhone, and 300mm lens.
I’m happy to share these little things with you. Small things around us have interesting stories to tell if we only take the time to stop, look, and listen. This week, we invite you to join us and share things that make you smile, You’re welcome to share something like a small gesture, your favorite dessert, or something that gives you a smile rather than objects that are small in size. Make a link here and tag “lens Artists” so we can find you.
Many thanks to John for his Mechanical/Industrial theme. It was fascinating to learn about mechanics through John’s photos and the history behind. We enjoyed your wonderful photos and stories. Thank you!
Bob Marley’s “Every Little thing … (Three Little Birds)” always makes me happy. 🙂
I don’t know anyone who shoots details any better than you do! Thanks for getting me up close and “inside” so many beautiful flowers.

Hi Amy! I love your “every little things ” theme and the variety of beauty here!
Sorry I missed the challenge this week (I was on a challenge break) but I did enjoy the various posts I saw – oh and love the Marley song (quite a nice uplifting jam) 🖤🎶

My ‘small things’ are as far from beautiful nature as possible, but still beautiful in their own way. I envy your sighting (and even more your photo) of the Sphinx Moth – what a gorgeous and interesting creature. And the little lizardy creature shyly peeking out of the flowers – lovely composition.

Thank you for your compliment! I’m happy you enjoy these natural small things around. The lip lizard was a nice surprise, I may not capture it again. It was the first time I saw sphinx moth. 🙂
