This week, Ann-Christine leads the Memorable Events theme. As she said, “life gives us quite some of these very special events, doesn’t it? Happy Birthdays, surprising hikes, meetings with faraway friends, interesting exhibitions, traveling…”
The Western Heritage Parade in San Antonio is a special annual event. I have posted some photos in the past. I think the cute dog and these two young girl horse riders stole the show. 🙂 I have seen a couple other WH Parade events, this one is really cool!
The young girl horse rider below led the horse rider team. She was cool, calm, and confident:
Sheep also joined in!
The annual Stock Show & Rodeo show is another special event in Texas. Looking forward to seeing the show again.
Thanks to Patti for hosting the “Interesting Objects” theme last week. What a wonderful way to enjoy many fun and interesting objects through your lens.
Looking forward to seeing your events. Click here to visit Ann-Christine’s fabulous memoriable event images. Please link to her post here and use the Lens-Artists tag so we can find you.
Next week, I will host LAPC #184. Until then, stay safe.

Amy, loved seeing your pictures from the parade and show. The dog looks like he is singing and the two young girls are precious looking! What a fun event.
Hi, Amy. This looks like a wonderful event! Those little girls are amazing…fearless! I love these local events. They reveal so much about the local culture.
I enjoyed the photos, Amy, and it was so nice to see events with colorful, happy crowds. I hope we can soon resume gathering in large community events again! Just seeing the photos reminds me of what I’ve been missing.
What a fun experience! Love your shots of the little girls on horseback and the sheep. We rarely get to see anything like this where we live in Tennessee, so thanks for sharing.
Hi Amy – the little girl (and pup) are wonderful — and that skirt and hat on the second girl show the culture connections someone did a very good job at creating – nice outfit

Isn’t that funny? I did not even remember that we had met, but I obviously liked you way back then. Sorry we lost touch between then and when you joined the Lens Artists.
The southwestern U.S. enjoys this type of celebration throughout the region. Just yesterday, I saw a reminder that it’s almost time for Buckeye Days here in Buckeye Arizona. A cattle drive down main street, a pro rodeo and other events top off the week.
I love the photo of the girl and the two cowboys. From her manner, it appears that she’s going to be strong and confident as a young lady.
Thanks for letting me kow about the Buckeye Days. I know one of the parades cancelled in Fort Worth due to the high wind. I agree, that young girl has no fear.
Parade! Great memories and oh, that little girl! The sweetest thing indeed – and happy times when we could have those events. We don’t since covid. Perfect for the theme!
I know! Sometimes I leave my camera at home just so I can totally take in the whole experience. But then when I get home I wish I had taken some pictures! Can’t win!!
Oh that tiny little girl on horseback is one of the sweetest things I’ve seen in a long time Amy! Excellent choice for this week’s challenge! The sheep cracked me up!
Hi Terri, So glad you enjoyed these photos. They were fun to watch, and this one is special.
Just caught and fixed the errors.Typig while on the road… Sorry about that.
Dear Amy
Great pictures of a world that’s foreign to us.
Siri 🙂 and 🙂 Selma are quite excited about this little girl leading the group of cowboys. They would love to do something like this as well – although they can’t even ride a horse 😉
Thanks for sharing.
Keep well
