Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #174: Shapes and Designs
For this week’s photo challenge, Patti asks us to take a closer look at shapes and designs.
Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló has various shapes — irregular oval windows and flowing sculpted stone work much of the façade is decorated with colorful mosaics made of broken ceramic tiles.

I.M. Pei was noted, for his bold and skillful arrangements of groups of geometric shapes and for his dramatic use of richly contrasted materials, spaces, and surfaces. One of the examples is the East Building of the National Gallery of Art.
Various shapes of Chihuly’s glass artworks:
We can easily find beautiful shapes, colors, lines, and curves in nature.
Patti reminds us, “Once you start noticing them, you’ll find them in many places–in nature, in works of art, in food, in architecture–to name a few.” Take a look of Patti’s beautiful images. We are looking forward to seeing your images of shapes and designs. Include a link to Patti’s post and be sure to use the Lens-Artists tag.
Special thanks to Tina for hosting the Interesting Architecture last week. We enjoyed viewing your architecture photos around the world, they are beautiful and very special.
We’re delighted to announce that Lindy Low LeCoq will be our guest host next week for LAPC #175. Please visit her beautiful site.

The architecture is so unique and intriguing! And I absolutely love your photos! They look so abstract yet so beautiful. I want to see more such interesting photographs clicked by you! Waiting eagerly!! Well don’t forget to go through my articles as well and drop in your valuable feedback with me.
Your selections for this challenge are so engaging. I have never seen any Gaudi in person, and your lead photo makes me feel that I’ve been missing out! Those balconies are so fanciful looking. Do you suppose his extravagant style extends to the interior features of that building, too? Great photo!
Here’s another offering from me for the Lens Artists Shapes and Designs challenge:
Great choices of shapes, I love the Gaudi building it’s in Barcelona isn’t it? My Mum would love the glass sculptures she collects beautiful glass art.
