Lens-Artists Challenge #118 – Communication

This week, we have Biasini, the first horse, hosts the challenge theme.

“Communication means sharing together, thinking together, not agreeing or disagreeing together but thinking, observing, learning, understanding together. Both you and the speaker have to take the journey together.”
~ J. Krishnamurti

Some time ago, townhall meetings worked well for local citizens.

Often, non-verbal communication is a way to communicate.

When I was admiring these ancient wall carvings in Cairo, I felt Ancient Egyptins were communicating with us through these carving about their daily lives.

These wall paintings were about 3,700 years old.

“The Two Popes” film (2019) is about “a universal need for tolerance, for listening to each other, understanding, compromise, communion.” The film was directed by Fernando Meirelles and written by Anthony McCarten.  Starring: Anony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce.

Meirelles said, “The idea of tolerance is the take-away. I hope people really relate to this idea of listening and tolerance because it gives us the hope that we don’t have to keep fighting one another forever.”

After the two popes met outside of Rome, a year later Pope Benedict XVI delivered his resignation. Bergoglio was elected as his successor in the 2013. The story ended with he two popes watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina together.

We appreciate your response to last week’s Photo Walk theme. Through your lens and wonderful stories, we get to visit the places that are dear to your heart and many beautiful parks, gardens, farms, waterfalls… around the world. It was a privilege to host this theme.

Special thanks to Biasini and his partner (and personal typist) Ma Leueen, for guest hosting this week’s challenge. We look forward to seeing your responses. Please remember to link them to their original post here, and to use the Lens-Artists tag to help us find you. We hope you’ll stay tuned for Ann-Christine’s challenge.

  2. Wonderful images and thoughts on communication, Amy. I love your quote from The Two Popes. What a wonderful film and a great example for the challenge. I love that they watch the FIFA match together and become friends, despite being so different. The images of the hieroglyphs are also beautiful. They are so wonderfully preserved after thousands of years. A great post!
