I especially like the photo of the home in Croatia. With a view like that, it makes you wonder what the circumstances were that made the home become abandoned. Was the family killed in a war, were the taxes so much that the people could no longer stay there…as they say, if walls could talk.
I’ve even seen a couple of people on Instagram who specialize in posting photos of abandoned houses, barns, etc. One is @theforgottensouth. You might enjoy her posts.
I post lots of shabby chic doors for Thursday Doors, many from my trips to France, and someone said once how we don’t have them here. But as I told them, that type of door would look worse than ridiculous on homes here (unless also battered). Different types of houses/buildings and different ages, too.
I love old buildings, though having lived in a couple of old houses I’d rather just visit and snoop around. They sure have character. I love the first most of all.
Love this subject matter Amy! There is character and a story behind every old building.

That top picture sings to me! I love to drive in the country and look at abandoned farms and old structures. This one would fit right in to Tennessee!

Those goats made me smile, Amy. There’s something attractive about old and decrepit buildings…when they’re not ours or next to our houses. 🙂
