“Darkness cannot drive out darkness….”

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” MLK Strength to Love, 1963.

“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”

MLK Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, Oslo, Norway, 1964.

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

“Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope”

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension it is the presence of justice.”

Stride Toward Freedom, 1958

― Martin Luther King Jr.

  1. Using black and white. Would that be symbolic in any way? πŸ™‚ Of course, so well done. The one with the mountains in the background is my favorite, but they’re all wonderful. Your chosen quotes tell me what Dr. King would think of the way too much of this is going. It saddens me deeply and as I’ve said elsewhere, moving on is the difficult part, figuring out what the real problems are that led us to where we are and then beginning the laborious process of trying to fix them. Protesting is easy, changing is extremely difficult!
