Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #84: Narrow

If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.

Lewis Carroll

After walking through a long, winding, and narrow wooden path in the Plitvice Lakes, Croatia, we got to enjoy the endless waterfalls, lakes, and into the beautiful woods.

“There’s something about arriving in new cities, wandering empty streets with no destination.”

― Charlotte Eriksson

The Metropol Parasol in the old town of Seville is a gigantic, undulating canopy shaped like five waffle-patterned structures. Walked along the narrow path of the parasol, we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful night scenes of the city.

Hiking through the long, narrow path of Cinque Terre from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore was an adventure. And, we did it twice in two different trips.

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Walt Disney

Layers and layers of narrow stunning paths in Antelope,Arizona led us into the fascinating canyon.

In Egypt, we almost always had to go through a narrow gate and a hallway before approaching a grand temple or tomb.

This tall and narrow obelisk has been standing at the gate of the Luxor Temple since 1390 BC. Two 80 foot (25m) pink granite obelisks once were there, the other was removed in 1831 and reerected in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

Travel has taught me that once we go through a narrow path, alley, and/or road with a little patience, at the end it always opens up to pleasant surprises. The experience certainly has broadened my horizon allowing me to see the world through different eyes. Thus, I choose “narrow” for this week’s theme. We hope you will join us and share your photos with us.

Thanks to Ann-Christine’s “future” theme. Her creative double exposure shots are creative and incredibly beautiful. And, your entries have inspired us to envision the future. Have you seen these:

Shiobhan’s (Bend Branches): “…Someday in the future I’ll live where every sunrise is more spectacular than the one the day before.”

Sylvia (My Colorful Expression): Sylvia shares a wonderful story that how her friend made an impact on a stranger.

Perpetua (Reflections): Small step for mankind.
