Yosemite Valley (10/23/2019)

“The more you look, the more you find, and it is important that every heart can find pleasure and joy in this heartwarming, joyous place.”    — William Neill

” The Sierra stood as mountains of life, to which I was merely a vulnerable visitor.”

— William Neill

During late July and early August, 2018, sections of the park, including the Valley, were temporarily closed due to the Ferguson Fire.

Galen Clark and others lobbied to protect Yosemite Valley from development, ultimately leading to President Abraham Lincoln’s signing the Yosemite Grant in 1864. John Muir led a successful movement to have Congress establish a larger national park by 1890.  — Wikipedia

  1. Yosemite is a treasure and I love it dearly. I have such concern every time there are nearby fires, which is all too frequent. Your photos are incredible, Amy. Typically photos don’t do Yosemite justice, but you did!
