Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a small, quiet town on the Island of Anglesey off the northwest coast of North Wales, famous for having the longest place name in an English-speaking country.

Wikipedia.

33 miles west of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is the South Stack Lighthouse. The South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below.

  1. Google translate in Welsh took 6 seconds to say this name, I think the natives of this place will never have public speaking anxiety. Just ask them the name of their town and they will break the nervousness barrier with the answer 😉

  2. A part of my job was on Anglesea. in Holyhead. And all the people I met there now how to say this! Still, it’s not the longest name – Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu .. New Zealand.
