Prolific Colors

For this week’s WPC, Krista Stevens asks, “What do you think of when you think of the word prolific?.

I think of the gorgeous train of the peacock.

As soon as the male peacock saw the female (peahen), he started displaying his beautiful train.

And, he was the climax of the display:

But, the female was not impressed.

Luckily, the peacocks shed their train every year after mating season, so the feathers can be gathered and sold without the birds coming to any harm.  Click here for more.

I also think of Texas bluebonnets in spring, but we haven’t seen bluebonnets like this yet. 

Spring rain is always welcome here, it brought lush green to our area.
