I’d Rather Be…

I’d rather be in Hawaii watching whales.

It took us a little while to get on the boat. Though there were several boats, the line was pretty long.

When the boat cruised to the spot, it stayed there. The rule for these whale watching boats is that they are not allowed to get closer than 100 yards from the whale when the captain spots a sign of a whale, but the whale can approach the boat.

Whale watching boats were waiting patiently…

Here was a sign, but we were hoping the whale would come closer. So we waited…

A long while later, this one swam toward our boat. It was at 2:35:07 pm.

At 2:25:07, he was showing his tail:

in 15 seconds, he swam closer and closer to our boat:

At 2:35:34:

At 2:36:06, the show time began:

At 2:36:06:

At 6:36:07:

At 2:36:17, “don’t just go away yet…”:

I think he heard us. At 2:36:21, right in front of our boat, he brought up his powerful tail one more time:

All were in just 1 minute and 16 seconds.
