Hurricane “Harvey” is coming…

Harvey continued to intensify as it steered for the Texas coast, with the forecasters saying it had strengthened to a Category 2 storm.

“Please heed warnings and evacuate as soon as possible.” Gov. Greg Abbott announced.

Birds, horses, deer… are taking the announcement seriously.

  1. While living in Florida I learned that sometimes the aftermath of a hurricane (outside the direct path) is a bit disconcerting. I hope, if need, you have somewhere to go as well as water, food, candles, and baby wipes.

  2. Good morning, Amy. I used to like typhoons. Trees looked so clean after the wind and rain. It didn’t create a lot of damages back then. Take care.
I love these photos, particularly the second one. It looks like a Chinese or Japanese painting. The first photo — panning?
    Have a wonderful day.

    • Thank you, Helen, After seeing your beautiful panning photo, I though I’d gave a try for fun, had no idea how to move the camera at what speed though. The second one was done through the double exposure.
We can use some rain here, may get too much this time. High pressure from west may impact on that, will see. Got bottled water, batteries, and more foods. Hope Internet will stay.

      • I know. The speed is tricky. I tried many times. At first, I did fast, and I didn’t like the result. I kept telling myself to slow down, but after I press down the button, I worried if I would run out of time… ha. I had fun though.
Hope your Internet will be up. I am so used to wake up and read your post…
        Have a great day.

    • Thank you, Julie. I did a photo merge with the photo of grass and place the bird image on top, glad this one looks okay. We are not close to the coast area. There are some damage there and in Houston. Lot of rain in Austin.

    • Thank you so much for your prayer, Patrick! The strange thing about this storm was that it landed and went to the direction to San Antonio and Austin, somehow it made a u-turn and moved to Houston (according to the weather report). So, they think the Harvey may be back… so weird.
      Enjoy the weekend!

  6. Yikes Amy, didn’t realize you were close to Harvey. What a horror he turned into. Reminds me of last fall when we had a Cat 1 storm which was pretty terrifying so I cannot begin to imagine a Cat 4 which the news is now saying. Thinking of you and praying for you and yours. Stay safe! (and PS, love the way you showed the storm – did you use textures??)

    • Thank you, Tina! I remember the cat 1 you guys went through. We are okay here. Strange thing was the storm made a u turn and went to Houston….
For the bird image, I merged two photos in one. 🙂

  7. I live in Houston, we made it, praise God, it has been a devastating time all around us, great blog
