Dancing lions was part of Chinese Happy New Year (on January 28th, it’s a 15-day celebration) activities in Bangkok.

Many Thai Chinese keep the traditions. Before they serve New Year Eve dinner, man of the house leads the family to pay respect to their ancestors; to this day, they still get down on their knees in front of the ancestors’ photos.

After the dinner, they burn fake money and gold blocks for their ancestors. It’s a symbol of remembering their ancestors, also they wish ancestors a good life in another world.
