How Starbucks Changed the Coffee World

In Seattle downtown, it is common to run into two or three coffee shops, which makes it very difficult to choose.

There you can get a good cup of coffee anywhere, anytime in the daytime. While sipping coffee, you can enjoy a conversation, reading, or work with your laptop as long as you like, and they offer free Wifi. This is how Starbucks changed the coffee world.

Below is the original Starbucks (1912). It started its journey with a store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market in 1971.

Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, started working for Starbucks in 1982. He went to Italy in 1983 and saw how the sense of community and the romance were around the the espresso. He brought the idea to Starbucks, but it was rejected.

When Starbucks went under, Schultz was offered the opportunity to buy the company. Began in 1987, he was able to buy 6 coffee stores at a time.

Now, Starbucks has more than 25,000 stores in 75 countries, and serves 8 million customers a week.
