Half-Light: Choose a place…

IMG_1543-Edit-half light

“There is only a certain amount of kindness in the world…just as there is a certain amount of light.

We cast a shadow on something wherever we stand, and it is no good moving from place to place to save things…

Choose a place where you won’t do very much harm and stand in it for all you are worth, facing the sunshine.”

― E.M. Forster, A Room with a View

WPC: Half-Light (Krista wants us to share a photograph inspired by a favorite poem, verse, story, or song lyric…)

This photo was taken with iPhone 6. I’m also submitting to Sally’s Mobile Photo Challenge: Challenger’s Choice.

  2. This image is mesmerizing, Amy! Wow, did you ever catch the LIGHT just right. Fantastic capture. As for the quote, very deep, and very powerful. All together a very moving post. Thank you! ❤

  3. What a perfect, thoughtful marriage of quote and photograph! It’s almost as if the beautiful young lady in the foreground is listening to the words and starting to spin to face the light. Beautiful.

  4. Love how the light is falling over the girl. Beautiful street photography. Such a warm shot, you got it right with the angle in this one. Hope the crowd wasn’t too much of a bother 🙂

  6. Amy, the image has many layers. The light moves with grace across the woman’s face. We also are able to see various shadows as well as the way the light diffuses across the composition. Nicely done. Happy Photo Challenge.

  8. You painted with light, dear Amy!The threads of life and shadows created an extramundane image which looks like a “heliography” transmitting life … So effectual a photo!Bravo 🙂 ❤ xxx
PS:Photo is a word of Greek origin and it means Light … photography means draw or write with Light, and you did it.
Loved your quote;I was in London when the film was released,I enjoyed it,and then I bought the book.

    • Happy to know we enjoyed the same movie and book. So many wisdom in that book. 🙂 Thank you so much for letting me know that Photo is a word of Gree origin and it means light! ❤ ❤
