Beauty Without Vanity

Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride,

Friendship without envy,

Or beauty without vanity?

Here, where grace is served with muscle

And strength by gentleness confined

He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity.

There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent.

There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.

  1. Today I was reading about a politician (a blithering idiot) who smashed the leg of a horse while holding some protest in a state back in our country. Horses are literally one of the most harmless creatures and we love horses.

Nice pictures. Good idea to keep it B&W. πŸ™‚

  2. Your work, with your beautiful horse photo-series in b/w and the compelling poem,is a great tribute to this powerful and yet so noble animal! Some of your photos resemble C.M.Russell’s paintings with horses,he was a great artist of the old American West. The worm’s eye view of the beautiful horse is glorious!Thank you for this horse post, dear Amy πŸ™‚ xxx

      • It was one of your best posts, you know the weakness I have for Horses. The Greek word is αλογο which means a creature with advanced reason !!!Love to you and to those noble animals.Your photos and the poem said everything πŸ™‚ xxx
