Cee’s B&W: Two (Elephants) and Mobile Photography (Spring in the air)

Fun facts:

  • Elephants are highly sensitive and caring animals. if a baby elephant complains, the entire family will rumble and go over to touch and caress it. Elephants express grief, compassion, self-awareness, altruism and play.

  • Elephants form deep family bonds and live in tight matriarchal family groups of related females called a herd. The herd is led by the oldest and often largest female in the herd, called a matriarch. Herds consist of 8-100 individuals depending on terrain and family size. When a calf is born, it is raised and protected by the whole matriarchal herd. Males leave the family unit between the ages of 12-15 and may lead solitary lives or live temporarily with other males. 1. Amy, you’ve created a lovely invitation into nature and her offerings. When I opened the post, those encircling trunks were a treat. And the scene through the trees and into the unknown is very much the adventurous aspect of nature. Happy Photo Challenge.

    • Thank you, Gilly! I watched the elephant (on the left) walking toward the little one, slowly reaching out with his/her trunk, then started “hugging” each other. πŸ™‚

  3. Wonderful elephant scene with their entwined trunks,it looks magnificent in mono;your references to their society and its norms enhanced the beauty of the elephants’ portrait!Brilliant your nature photo as well, loved the reflective waters and the canopy of the barren branches above.I find both photos closely related, dear Amy!Trees support trees, elephants display noble “emotions” and loving care to their family members.Isn’t it amazing?Your gorgeous floral macro handsomely ended your nature stories πŸ™‚ xxx

  5. The nature photo is just amazing! Loved all the other photos on your site too… But this nature photo is so good, vivid and clear and seems like 3D somehow…! Feels like I am inside there… Thank you.
