CCY WeeK #14: Symmetry

“Using symmetry in your photography can lend interest to your pictures by making them more subconsciously beautiful to your viewer’s eye.  It can elevate your subject matter, if done correctly.”, Cee explains.

For Cee’s COMPOSE YOURSELF PHOTO CHALLENGE (CCY), Cee wants us to post 4 to 6 photos.

This office building below is located in Austin, Texas; both sides from the center that are the same in size and shape. This symmetrical structure goes around the four sides of the building.

The center piece of the Longwood Gardens shows the quality of symmetrical parts.

The structure of the pier is another good example:

The photo below is the architecture of the Baths of Lady Maria de Padilla at the Alcázar of Seville. It presents balanced proportion all around beautifully.

The Brooklyn Bridge in New York City uses its leading line to its perfect symmetry.

(Notes: When Washington Roebling’s paralyzing injury, his wife Emily Warren Roebling stepped in as the “first woman field engineer”. On that opening day, May 24, 1883, a total of 1,800 vehicles and 150,300 people crossed. Emily Warren Roebling was the first to cross the bridge.)

Cee is providing some excellent examples for the symmetry theme, take a look… She combines “tips and tricks” with photos for this weekly theme. Thank you, Cee!

Thank you for visiting! Happy Thursday 🙂
