here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;

which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide

I enjoy photographing trees. When I see majestic trees soaring to the sky, I often think of e e cummings’ poem “i carry your heart”.  He preferred his name abbreviated in all lowercase letters.

  1. e.e. Cummings first typewriter had a defect
    and the shift key did not work so everything
    was in lower case.
    he also added, don’t take everything so seriously,
    capital letters do not a shout make…
    Great photos, trees carry a great metaphor for human lives.

  4. This was a gorgeous tree and the quotation by e.e. cummings was simply wonderful. A great pairing was very thoughtful of you and I like to draw pen and ink trees. Their silhouettes are so lovely that they inspire me.
