Landscape (Spain and Dolomite)

IMG_7524-1

Landscapes generally focus on wide, vast depictions of nature and all of its elements, from formations to weather. In this genre of photography, you won’t find much of a human presence: nature itself is the subject. A focus on nature isn’t mandatory, however — you can capture a sweeping panorama of an entire city, town, or industrial area.   ~ Cheri Lucas Rowlands, Photo 101

Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer – and often

the supreme disappointment.

~ Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984)

An American photographer and environmentalist

Notes: With Fred Archer, Adams developed the Zone System as a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. The resulting clarity and depth characterized his photographs. Adams primarily used large-format cameras because their high resolution helped ensure sharpness in his images.
