Good morning, Amy. What a beautiful photo. The light, color, deer… everything is inviting. Thanks for sharing. Helen
Hi Helen, So glad you like it. This was a nice surprise, these two deer didn’t even move. 🙂
What a tranquil scene Amy! Immediately transports away any worries!
It was a tranquil place, deer were happy there. 🙂 Happy travel with your family!
Is this in Texas? You do find the best quotes to go with your photos. I’m going to have to do a little more looking for perfect words.
Right here in Texas. We were walking on a trail and saw a few deer in the woods. 🙂
Wonderful light, and great composition! Happy weekend, Amy.
So glad I could share it with you, Angeline! I like the composition too. 🙂 It was a lucky capture.
What a rare moment to capture. Just beautiful!
I was there at the right time. I snapped just one shot. I didn’t want to disturb the peacefulness.
Oh dear, oh deer.
Aren’t they lovely? I like this one myself. 🙂
Wow, that’s a stunning shot…it feels so intimate, and is so beautifully lit 🙂
Thank you for your compliment! I was there at the right time 🙂
That and perfect lighting are what every good photo is about 🙂
Lucky to be there at the right time 🙂
They are… It was a lucky capture 🙂
How adorable! They didn’t get up a run when they saw you? Cute!
They didn’t move at all. I snapped only one shot, didn’t want to disturb the peacefulness that they were enjoying.
Just a precious shot. Beautiful! You are a fabulous photographer Amy!
Love the light on this picture — can’t tell if it’s early morning or early evening. Just like the glow — and the deer, of course.
It was in morning. They were in the woods, and the sun ray came through the trees. I decreased the shadow a little and increased the light. 🙂
Oh they are so beautiful!
..as if they were posing for the picture. 🙂 Thank you, Cindy!
Beautiful and romantic days of autumn…like they are waiting just for you!
I like how you describe it, Dalo. 🙂 Thank you for visiting!

A beautiful picture and quote. Autumn is a time for harvesting and setting aside. It is a time to be thankful and grateful for the bounties we have been offered.
It is a time to be thankful and grateful for the bounties — Beautiful words. Thank you so much, Ivon!

The last smile of the year, indeed… Thank you, Lisa!
Oh, just look at these guys! Absolutely adorable 🙂 And I hadn’t realised how clever you’d been till I saw Tina’s comment. I had to go back and look again- which was a pleasure, Amy. 🙂
There didn’t move when I was snapping the shot. It was a lucky capture. Thank you, Jo! 🙂

That is a wonderful compliment, Dragon! Luckily the light was not too strong. Thank you! 🙂
Wow, what a gorgeous photo!
Thank you for visiting and leaving a nice comment, Celia!
You keep being lucky to capture the deer…. so lovely.
I snapped one shot, that was it! They looked so peaceful and resting, I really did not disturb them. 🙂 I was very lucky!
Yes… this summer we saw deer near my brothers like 4 times and each time I had the small camera and they were too far away. I finally brought the larger camera with a big zoom and Murphy’s law we never saw them again.
You will… I captured dragonflies twice this summer, different colors. I thought it would never happen. 🙂
Yes they are hard to capture… the deer was so funny though every night same time and place WAY off the main road until I had the camera then for the next month we never saw them… like they were camera shy.
wonderful! And when this came up in my reader I only saw the top of the picture – so I was expecting a pathway – or flowers! – and then the deer – sitting there – all lovely – and the hint of white on the left deer just pulls the eye in and then around this shot – nice capture and a sign of fall indeed….
oh – and when does hunting seasons start? jk
I’m glad it was a nice surprise for you to see the deer. When I was holding my camera, my hands were shaking, was excited to see this almost perfect composition. I only needed to crop the trees above them. 🙂 Thank you for liking it, Y 🙂
Beautiful photo and lovely and seasonal 🙂 I love this time of year with its richness of colour and the atmosphere it creates 🙂
It really is a colorful and lovely season. Thank you for visiting and liking the photo! 🙂
Beautiful photo! Loved the different shades of green and brown and the tranquility of it all … lovely!
great photo – really feels like Autumn is here now in the UK with howling winds and driving rain 😦
Beautiful! Love the mood and the composition too, with the brilliant framing provided by the tree branches above. (My cell phone doesn’t allow me to sign in as pix & kardz but it is really me 🙂 )
I see ya, Kris 🙂 Thank you so much for finding time to leave comment. I was lucky to capture the scene at the right time. Have a great week!
Oh, Amy!!!! I am stunned!!! LOOK at how many people liked this post! And the comments are endless!!! This image is perfect and it just makes my Heart melt all over the place. Wow what a great job you did on this!! Just amazing, Amy!! The colors and the composition and the mood are absolutely right on. (((HUGS))) Amy
It got more attention than I normally get, but not as many as your normal hits 😀 A blog friend re-blogged it 🙂 I thought you’d enjoy this one. I was just lucky, they didn’t move at all. Had I stayed a couple of minutes longer, they’d get up and walked away; and the scene would not be the same. So I decided to leave… Thank you, Amy! (((HUGS))) ~ Amy
Again, there is more then luck here, Amy. The deer may not have moved, but it is how you captured them that is magical. (((HUGS))) Amy
Now,that you know me better my dear friend Amy,there is no need to tell you how I feel as I marvel at this sweet double portrait !!! One of the most charming photos you have ever taken !
