Aqueduct of Segovia, Spain: The famous 2000-year-old acueducto romano runs some 17 km (11 mi) from the city in La Acebeda region, and another 15 km (9.3 mi) before arriving in the city. It was constructed to transport water between Rio Frio to Segovia when Roman Empire used the city as a military base. It is 30.49 meters (100 ft) high, had 118 arches, and was made from 20,000 granite blocks without any mortar.
