WPC: Masterpiece

The Hanging Temple was built halfway up to a sheer cliff face:

  • It’s over 1,500 years old (in 490 AD), located in Datong City, Shanxi Province in China.
  • 75 m or 246 ft above the ground.
  • The Temple was built for the Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
  • The architecture was based on the wood frame structure.
  • The Temple has 40 halls and cabinets, which contain 80 sculptures made of copper, iron, terracotta, and stone.

It’s mind-boggling to think of how these people in 490 AD used the ancient tools and climb up to the cliff to build this amazing Hanging Temple.
