The Sun Rose In Your Eyes
They are no longer anything but the two wings of the same spirit. Love, soar. – Victor Hugo “Les Misérables“
What a grand thing, to be loved! What a grander thing still, to love! — Victor Hugo “Les Misérables“
“The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the endless skies, my love
……..”
– “The Fist Time Ever I Saw Your Face” lyrics by Ewan MacColl
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thanks, AD! I’m afraid I used up my sugar quota of the month in one day, but it made me very happy

This is the best Valentine’s Day post that I have seen! It should have been Freshly Pressed! I love the song too but have not heard it in years – thanks!

Clever, clever, to post the picture of Verona’s Juliet house during Valentine’s. That’s very clever of you, Amy. Seen the movie Les Miserables? Pretty darn good.
February 16, 2013 at 12:43 am
Thank you, Rommel! I read the book (English trans.) and saw the Broadway show, not the movie yet. I’m afraid I won’t like the scenes of the cruelty. To me, Hugo was using the refugee journey to tell the stories about people (their kindness and brutality), life, love,…and mostly history.
February 16, 2013 at 9:32 am
I didn’t even recognised there’s cruelty in the movie.
February 16, 2013 at 6:54 pm
Good to know… Thank you, Rommel!
February 16, 2013 at 7:31 pm
Thank you for this post Amy
I love Roberta Flack
, and I read Les Miserables (in my language) when I was nine
. I still love him
February 16, 2013 at 8:32 am
I just don’t think anyone can sing this particular song like Roberta FLack. I read the Les Mis too in English. I love, love the book. So much about people, love, life, and history, and beautifully written… I’m so happy that we share the same interests and passion for traveling (Italy, of course)
February 16, 2013 at 9:40 am
Oh yes, we share so many things in common, and I look forward to discovering more of them, Amy
Wishing you a great weekend. *hugs*

Same to you, Paula! {{hug}}…
